Nothing encourages creativity like the chance to fall flat on one's face. —James D. Finley
Never has this quote resonated more for Dev than when he arrived at Patrick's apartment for his first day of work at Godfrey Q in 2003. After taking a long look around a living room filled with mechanicals, pitch materials and empty coffee cups, he realized that the chance of this company falling flat on its face was a distinct possibility. And he loved it.
Originally from the East Coast, Dev moved to San Francisco in 1998 when he got his first job in advertising at Lowe & Partners working on Sun Microsystems. After a few years at FCB San Francisco and Hal Riney working with brands like Dockers, Sega, Esurance and HP, Dev landed at a newly minted Godfrey Q. It was here where Dev's brand experience expanded to include Brocade, Dolby, Freescale Semiconductor, Intel, Splunk, Symantec, Veritas and many others.
Dev’s current role is managing the day-to-day operations of the account management function, ranging from addressing clients’ needs to the recruitment, education and development of account management staff. When he’s not working, Dev is likely traveling, skiing, climbing or taking photos—or some relatively safe combination of all of those.
